1 minute 28 seconds: A short psychogeographical journey around Istanbul following the steps of Marmaduke Pickthall. Created for a pitch at Decibel (performing arts showcase) September 2011.
Marmaduke Pickthall was the son of a rector from Suffolk who went to Turkey and the Middle East in search of the truth and found it in the Holy Qu’ran. He penned a ‘translation’ of the same “kitab”, the word of God, that is being printed still and being used in many schools and mosques today.
This project is in its research and development phase, it is being proposed as a live performance with film and art.
